Conal O’Neill
Operations Manager
Conal learnt his trade at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, working his way up through one of the biggest operators at the Fringe – Assembly Festival. At Assembly, he spent time running the bars department and as the Venue Operations Manager before finishing up as the Business Development Manager, responsible for strategic planning and partnerships across the festival, theatre, and hospitality arms of the company.
As Operations Manager Conal oversees all operational aspects of our company strategy, working across our portfolio of products, from our festival in Belfast to our London Conference – and new projects we’re taking to market in 2023.
Having worked the past 10 years in festivals and events, Conal gets his kicks out of managing large teams, complicated budgets and intense onsite activity. Asked about what he loves the most he responds, “I love the chaos in the immediate run-up to the event opening. There's nothing better than, after months of planning, the buzz of it all coming together as everyone pushes themselves to get it over the line. That’s where the magic happens.”
