Summer Series

The Brief

To bring PAIRED, the original music and dining concept created by AVA and UP! Productions in collaboration with Carousel, to one of London's most iconic cultural institutions for a three-part summer series.

Hosted at the Serpentine's Zaha Hadid-designed Magazine in Kensington Gardens, the ambition was to create a series of intimate, one-off experiences pairing world-class electronic music artists with acclaimed chefs, exploring the creative relationship between food, music and culture.

The Delivery

UP! Productions, AVA and Carousel brought PAIRED to the Serpentine for three exclusive events, transforming the Magazine into a unique dining and nightlife destination.

Each event brought together a carefully curated chef and DJ pairing, with bespoke menus, thoughtfully selected soundtracks and immersive production designed to take guests on a journey from dining room to dance floor.

UP! Productions led the creative concept, artist booking, production design and event delivery, working alongside Carousel, who curated and delivered the culinary experience.

The series featured three exceptional pairings:

Richie Hawtin x Leo Carreira
Electronic music pioneer Richie Hawtin joined Lisbon-based chef Leo Carreira for an exploration of contemporary Portuguese cuisine, electronic music and Japanese saké, specially curated by Hawtin and his team of brewers. Following dinner, the tables were cleared for an extended intimate DJ set from Richie.

HUNEE x Joe Otway
Globally celebrated selector HUNEE joined Joe Otway of Manchester's acclaimed Higher Ground for an exclusive evening combining a specially created menu with HUNEE's distinctive musical selections.

HAAi x Ellen Parr
Contemporary producer and DJ HAAi joined Ellen Parr of London's Lucky & Joy for the series finale, pairing Chinese-inspired dishes with an intimate musical journey before transforming the space into a dance floor to close out the summer.

The Results

Three events brought together internationally recognised electronic music talent, acclaimed chefs and London's creative community in one of the city's most celebrated cultural spaces.

The series demonstrated the versatility of the PAIRED concept, seamlessly moving between fine dining, live music and late-night club culture while maintaining a distinctive identity across all three events.

Through considered programming, bespoke production and creative collaboration, PAIRED transformed the Serpentine Magazine into a meeting point for music, food and contemporary culture.

The Impact

The PAIRED Summer Series at Serpentine marked an exciting new chapter for the concept, bringing together leading names in electronic music and gastronomy within a world-renowned arts setting.
